I have several projects that require moving dirt some distance. My biggest tractor is a 2394. I can borrow a scraper that will require a much bigger tractor. There is a low houred 4694 on tractorhouse. How would they stand up as a scraper tractor? Are there parts that would no longer be available? How big is the learning curve on operating one? Any idea if they would handle a 20 yard scraper in MO? It would be pretty tough dirt down to some clay. How much fuel an hour on a hard pull?

You are still going to need a push cat, or even a rubber tired tractor with a blade to help fill it.That's been my experience.

Weight wise i think it will Roll it ok,That's about 50,000 lbs But you can put a tractor in a 2 mph gear it will just stand on top and spin. That would be like a Triple axle belly dump trailer. pulled with a truck tractor, there about 20 yards.

I guess I wasn't very prepared when I started this thread. I checked with my friend and his scraper is a 14 yard. He pulled it with a Deere about 300 hp then a Challenger about the same size. My big concern is whether the 4894 will hold up to that type of work and how available parts would be if there was a problem. Are parts available for the Scania engine?
