1070 Black Night - What Black do I use???

I am restoring a Black Knight 1070. My local dealers are not sure if it is suppose to be Gloss Black, Flat Black or Satin Black??? I have been told all three. I want to use the correct black any help would be appreciated. I am trying to get this tractor completed for the world case show coming up in Andover, SD. Thanks for all replies.

I was lucky enough to be able to wash and wax the 1070 we got in in 1971,,, I always have heard it called Satin Black, for sure it was not Gloss. and it had shine so not Flat,,, just what I remember, here is a photo my Dad took when he was at a intro of the BK program, I am not 100% sure why he was there but I think this was it, this was early in 1971,

I'd have to agree with Case Nutty. Our 1070 was a satin black. We had to replace the fiberglass
grille and they repainted it flat black and it never matched. When is the Andover show?

agreed with all other posts , satin black ,. I have seen flat black , and gloss black on the black knight,.they look ok but they miss the mark when you pull a satin black beside it

We also got a "1070" and my uncle bought it when we got done with it, he had his sale just a couple weeks ago, it didn't sell, and I didn't bid, they told me if I would have I would have gotten it. Did bid on our old farm tractor a "1470" and missed it by 100.00!

I have always enjoyed this picture, thanks for posting it
