Where did you find that piece?? I have it's brother in the shop somewhere....if I can find it I'll compare casting numbers to yours. Don't remember where I found mine either, it's brand new...never been used.

It's a stand for an Old Abe post topper. Leastways that's what I use mine for.

At first I thought it was a socket for removing hubcaps, but it doesn't fit any hubcaps I have.

I've never researched it but I now suspect it fits something on a threshing machine. If I had a Case thresher I'd go walk around it and see what it fits but all I have here is a McCormick Deering. I think it's purpose is too big and heavy to be used for hubcaps.

Well, I have rebuilt a couple threshers here and it isn't from a Case thresher. Almost looks like a socket for a big nut and put a bar thru the holes and tighten. Maybe something on a rock crusher or a steam engine

I have never seen one. It sounds like SD is a good place for them though. Possibly a tool to turn the cylinder on a thresh machine or early combine?

I talked to a wrench collector guru of all brands. Hes thinking steamer but not positive.
He was to meet with Harry Kline so he could learn his wrench knowledge but he passed before it happened.
The prefixes mean something. This socket is VR. Some tools have a W or T or A etc. Harry was to explain
it all but if anyone else thinks they know, then we'd like to hear from you. Thanks.

Solved it, one of the guys on the other page found it in the "M" series Brush Harrow parts book, a socket to hold the gang nut,, Thanks Guys!!
