730 starter rusting inside . HOW ?

OLD 10-20

Have this CASE 730 caseomatic diesel and it happens every 5 years about that the starter quits working . Take it to a repair shop and he tells me condensation builds up inside and the brushes quit making contact and the springs cant work to keep pressure with the armature ? Tech man actually asked me if I run this tractor through water ? It sits in a Quonset during winter months . Some times used with a snowblower but not much last few winters . Any one else have this problem and how did you remedy it ? Other than giving the repair man a couple hundred bucks .

Change the drive gear, and put a 70 series starter on there. They have much improved springs on the brushes that the rust does not seem to effect. Try to keep it in a building where the temperature does not swing quite as wild as it does outside. The starter rebuilders have always taken my 30 series starters for the core on the 70 series starters.

(quoted from post at 07:56:09 08/23/16) Buy a DENZO starter. No more starter problems and they turn the engine about 15% faster for better starting.

Loren, could you be a little more specific about the Denso starter.
Like what it came off of.
Thanks
