Did All 1963 Case 830 Diesel Tractors Have Power Steering ? were they 6 spd Or 8 Spd ? Are They a Good Tractor To Own?

never saw a 7-8-9-1030 without power steering ,.. the early 930 was the only model that was 6 speed,there were some chain drive comfort king 930 hand clutchers made in 1967-68.they mite have 6 speeds . all others are 8 speed,. the 730 and 830 could be ordered with c-o-matic

I have a 1966 830 CK bought new in New Zealand that year and it came with mechanical steering. It was fairly heavy to steer and was difficult to follow windrows well when baling hay. We ordered a power steering unit for the next season and oh boy, what a difference! When buying it we were offered an earlier 830 with clamshell mudguards a bit cheaper and another guy bought that one and it also had mechanical steering but much lighter to steer. Must have been lower geared or something.
