1175 mets 2670

I saw the 930 with the 2670 engine. I am doing the same swap to a 1175. I was wondering about frame rails if I run the steel oil pan. It would be nice not to and not run a cast pan if I can. Is there a factory frame rail I could use that would bolt on if you think they are needed. I will post pictures once the project gets going. Thanks for your thoughts.

1170's had frame rails. I do not even know if a cast pan will fit on that engine with the larger oil pump due to clearance issues. Maybe some one will say. Rod.

I was wondering the same thing, but after watching videos of these tractor pulling and looking at many pictures on the Internet and seeing these newer engine swaps with the tin pans without bracing I wasn't too worried. I have not heard of one breaking. Those blocks are heavily ribbed and after cutting out some of the front casting for the pulleys to clear that cast is hard and strong as hell, after I cut out the casting I drilled and tapped the front casting for a steel plate to attach the rear support for front axle. Which you won't have to do, That is my 930, lets see some pics of your 1175

I just went on U Tube and watched a ton of case pulls. I saw a lot of steel pan tractors running very hard without rails. Only a couple ran homemade rails.
