530 ck- power steering not working??

I just got a Case 530 ck..at least I was told. Has backhoe on it and says 'case-o-matic' on hood. I need to find out why the power steering isn't working? don't look like ram in front is leaking. where can I check filter for steering? where do I add fluid for steering?(alternate fluid ok or what should I use? P.S.my backhoe is leaking bad past one cylinder but that fluid level doesn't affect level for steering does it? need to get manual yet. THANKS

Depending on the vintage of your 530, the P/S reservoir could be in 1 of 2 places. Both on the right side, could be up in the very top-back corner of the engine head, just in front of the fuel tank, or mounted directly to the pump. The pump drives off the accessory drive, back side of the timing housing.

Thanks John- it has the one on side up by the gas tank. I took filter out but is in steel type casing so couldn't tell if dirty. I assume this is just 'assist' so really not going to help until driving.. but did,t seem to be of much help moving forward or back. I just got this and am waiting on ram seals for the boom to come. Now I need to also see if brakes can be adjusted.
