I have an '83 Case 1190. My family has owned it 20+ years. Ever since I can remember, It has been almost impossible to get in 2nd gear and reverse. They are on the same side of the gearbox. Recently I purchased a used bushog. The PTO driveshaft was a little too long, but I wanted to test the new cutter. While running the cutter and lifting with the 3 point, the driveshaft pushed in on the PTO shaft. This tightened up the gearbox. I was able to get 2nd and reverse easily. After shortening the drive shaft, I ran the tractor another 30 minutes and the gearbox loosened back up. Now- Back to nearly impossible to get 2nd and reverse. Any ideas?
