TCH vs Hydtran Ultra

Local Case dealer give me Hytran today when I told him I was changing the case a matic oil. He said that is what to use now. I hate to pour it in without knowing for sure. Anyone know if the Hytran ultra will be fine in a tractor that's not used hard? Thanks - Bob

HyTRan is a better/ more heavy duty oil the TCH, works fine for me the last 25 years in all my CASE equipment including all the COM units I have

Case Nutty what do you think about using Hytran Ultra in an 1150E Case crawler. I have always used the TCH in it, but since it is the only thing that uses it I buy it in 5gal buckets, and I buy Hytran in bulk, so it would be much cheaper to change over.

I have had an 830 CK with case-o-matic for 35 years, always used TCH and never a problem. On the advice of this forum I changed out all the fluids to hy-tran and in about 50 hours it took a seal out somewhere between the case-o-matic and the trans/rear end. It now will pump the case-o-matic reservior into the rear end in about two hours use. Wish I would have used TCH, it's still available at the construction dealers. In all honesty, I have no idea if it is the fluid, but i'm looking at some major surgery on this old girl this winter if I decide to repair it.

good for you, your equipment you chose I get it I do the same, but you do not know much about oil then,, I live and breath CASE tractors have since 1966 when we became a dealer,, Hy-Tran is a far better oil than TCH or TFD Hy-Tran did not cause the mans below fluid transfer/ leak no way no how,, early Hy-Tran was not to mixed with certain oils like JD Hy-Guard as they each had additives that when combined could cause gelling, other than that which has been changed for the last 15 years or more, since then it mixes with all oils,, the poster asked a question about using it in a COM, it will work just fine, some say its thicker than ATF, well it may be according to specs but Hy-Tran flows better in cold,, I run it year around form 110 in the summer to -40 below in the winters,, this is the beauty of being your own boss you can use what you like,,, many use shell rotella,, I would not use it on a door hinge for lube myself but that's me,, I have seen what it does to a crank under severe service,, if you do not believe me ask the part manager at your local CNH dealer he has all the specs and info to confirm what I am saying as some are sure I am full of it and that's all good too lol this is not the first time this has started a argument here and won't be the last,,, I have two oils here for my fleet, Hy-Tran and CASE HD 15-40 wt dsl engine oil,,, all I need for the over 100 pieces of equipment have, all others use water if you like matters not to me I am just saying what works for me
