Case 830 hydraulics

Hey all I have a 1967 case 830 diesel ck, when I go to lower my haybine it drops like a rock, no matter how easy I move the lever I can't get it to drop gently. Is there a adjustment that slows drop speed? I looked In my service manual but does not mention anything. Thanks

There is an adjustment on the 3 pt for drop speed, but nothing on the remotes. You can get a flow restricter that can go in your hydraulic hose, but that will cut the flow while lifting also.

agreed,, I bought a adjustable flow valve,, you can turn the knob for a slow as you want or as fast and it only works in one direct so lift speed is the same,
cnt

Does your haybine have lift springs that can be adjusted to help with your problem? Lowering a haybine shouldn't be any different than lowering any other piece of machinery like a disk or chisel plow and we never had a problem with them.

The haybine does have springs but my Ford drops it nice and soft. The lever on the case gets hard to move when lowering then it just drops hard

I use a Case/IH 1190 mower/conditioner with my 830CK and it lowers just fine. It lowers against the "float springs" and they're
adjusted to have about 75# of float, it drops against those springs, and sure seems to work fine............ I'd be inclined to
think you're not adjusted quite right on the mower end of things.

I will look at the mower and check the springs, does your lever give you resistance when you try to lower? Thanks

I have no resistance in the lever(s) when lowering, I just pull/push the remotes and there is no "goofy" feel to them..........

I have 1966 830 CK and while there is an adjuster for lowering speed for 3 point I don't think it affects the remotes. However I used my remotes extensively, I never had any problem with "feathering" the lowering speed by just very gently moving the levers only minimally at a time. The nice long levers make that operation very easy.
