Was able to finish the 1370 after a couple weeks of farm related chores. Items that were replaced in the rearend of this tractor include ring and pinion plus brgs. Entire differential housing and all parts contained within except a few diff lock plates. Both final drive sun gears and all six planetary gears. All brake disc,s. Rockshaft bushings and piston seals. Parking brake band. The power shift was in pretty good shape, received some brgs and seals. Did up grade to 1/2 in. bolts in the C2-C3 clutch pack. Tractor runs great and will get a cab kit and cleanup. Should be a good tractor now after almost ending up in the salvage yard. Rod.

Well, good for you. A lot of hard work and know how and you know just what that tractor is made off. Of course you know the worth of that tractor in field work. So a good investment. gobble

Paint the rims and she's good to go! After all the work, would it be in the reasonable price range for a tractor that age?? Sure do have green grass there.....guess we haven't mowed for a couple weeks or more. Got .55 last nite and is raining as I type.

She looks Much better now Rod,, other than that moved forward front axle ,,lol Never did like how they looked moved forward,, sure they may ride better but,, anyway Great Job as always,, and thanks for the call back yesterday,, it was right where I thought it was under 8" of dirt and oil here is the pile I knocked off to find it, and she was plugged for sure thanks again chat again soon

Geese bro. Once those extended axle kits became available we got a lot of them. It vertually eliminated the "power hop" issue, and required less front end weights for moldboard plowing.
Granted they didn't look like a bull snorting and ready to charge anymore, BUT!!!

Steve the rims will get painted and our grass has remained green without ran for a couple weeks. Been damp and muggy in the mornings giving it some moisture. Rod.

I put bigger front tires on my 1070 , cant recall size rite now, but the step is higher to get up in the big boy ,, it has 23.1 x30 on the back , like riding on air ride,, not too bad of ride crossing chisel trail at 30degree angle with the disc in 3rd range 2nd..

I would be curious as to cost of parts and number of labor hours in a project as this. End result would be you know what you have...

Good job! I always liked the look with the axle moved forward. I was really excited one day at the salvage yard when I came across a simonsen iron works kit on an old 1370. Got it bought for $100. Think I had it on my 15 that night lol.

Every time I see Rod's before and after photos and stories here. The work he does and the products he turns out.. All I can say is "Man I wished I lived just up the road from him and had a really fat checkbook" Id buy every torn up machine I could find and send them over!!

Whats a "ball park" figure on the total repair bill? Around here customers are reluctant to spend much $$$ on 13's. Even w/used parts I'd guess $10,000.

I have not added up all the parts yet and I charge $60 an hour shop time. With the cost of the tractor, parts and labor I hope to be at around $7500 to make it affordable. I would like to replace the front tires and do some cosmetic and TLC work that could push the bill in that $8500 range. When finished everything will work properly with no leaks and look good. Hard to find one at say $5500 that would be as good of a tractor. Rod.

You are one valuable case mechanic, and you got the parts on hand,to boot. But i got neighbor's, a father/ son, who can do wonders too, they got a 2290 that they had to cut something out of the transmission, with a cutting torch, to get it out, but it's their loader, auger 13 X 130, and rock picker tractor.
