DC foot clutch guys

I have a 1953 foot clutch DC, it has a stud sticking out of the left side of the clutch pedal assembly, nothing there just stud, was this for a clutch lock? Or a spring? Can't find a good pic of a clutch pedal on one of these monsters. Thanks. Dusty
 
it looks factory, cast onto the pedal, in the exploded parts book it says there is a return spring, thinking mine dosent have one and this is where it goes???
 
think I may have found it, it's for the pedal Assisting spring, which hooks to a bracket belowe the clutch, no where to find one, lol
 
my 54 dc has a spring there,. it is needed ,. I am no good at pics but CNT TOM STANLEY , AND ADK CASE GUY MITE HELP WITH A CASE PICTURE , , pardon the capslok,,,. my fingers are tiglin bad from chemo treatment and I anm constantly backspacing and retyping and correctin
