Case VAC hitch won't raise

I have a 1949 vac and the eagle hitch won't raise my plow very well and the hitch drifts down quickly. Also oil is leaking from the vent on the torque tube. Is the piston possibly bad? I'm a little stumped! Thanks

You have all the symptoms of a leaking piston seal. If the piston is original it will have a leather cup as in the pic. Easy, inexpensive fix. Check the piston before you order parts, may have been substituted with later O-ring seal piston.

Leather cup original p/n V-22900 changed to p/n A30798. They may sell it on this site, click on the tractor parts button, If not available on this site, there may be Case posters here that can provide.
