Another 600 ? but Diesel This Time

I have a big 600 diesel as well that had been sitting awhile. The fuel must have leaked through the older Bosch pump and into the crankcase. I didn't realize it as we were trying to start it, but it did start and run pretty good until I noticed fuel trying to spit out the oil dipstick. I shut it off (it had ran about 3 or 4 minutes) and figured there is obviously a seal out in the pump.

Would anyone know if that seal would happen to be an easy fix, or does the pump have to come off. Thanks again for any help - Bob

I picked up a super 400 that way ,Might fix if It's a easy fix ?or it's just going to go for parts' or whole the way it set's.

Just change the oil and turn off the fuel when not using it. That's what I do. Fuel doesn't seem to leak while being used.

Very easy fix. The culprit is the seal in the transfer pump, located on the side of the main pump. It has the 4 small machine screws holding the square cover on.

Many thanks John. I was hoping someone might know the possible culprit. I'll check that. Thanks again

[quote="Bobl1958 I replaced the transfer pump seal on an 800 and still hade fuel leaking into the engine oil turned out there was a seal in the injector pump leaking. Pump man said biofuel is hard on seals made from older material.
