Case VAC no oil pressure

Alright guys.. I just dug the old case back out. Cleaned her up and tuned her up. I am reading no oil pressure.. The tractor had a problem from the previous owner and the crank case filled with water. I fixed the problem but I think it hurt the pump. I pulled the sending unit line and a couple drips of water fell out. I cranked the tractor and nothing came out.. So my question is does those pumps go bad or would a nice flush with kerosine do the trick. I found a rebuild kit for the pump and that was it.. It seams they are gone.. So any help would e great!! Thanks guys!

VA engine has a floating oil pick up strainer. Possible a high oil level and some rust may leave the strainer above the normal oil level.

I would over fill the crankcase, give the engine a few long cranks, with some wait intervals and check for discharge at the oil gallery fitting for the gauge.

Pump relief valve also prone to sticking, water can be a factor there too.

Be sure you do not start the engine, remove the plugs to get a faster spin with the starter, or pull the tractor in 4th gear to get
it spinning to try and get your pressure. The same things you'd do with a new engine.

A friend of mine's family had two vac engines on combines. both of these engines sheared off the half moon key on the pump gear. His uncles cure was to replace the key and weld the pump shaft and gear together and have it machined smooth.

I too had oil pump problems on a VAC. As others said the half moon key in the driving gear inside the pump may have sheared. I did repair mine also. I
could not find exact key so i filed down a larger one to fit percisely. I vaguely remember have to drive shaft through outer gear to get apart. Last I saw
was $500 for a new pump

Okay so it could be a stuck float, relief valve or moon key? They are all easy fixes. I have asked other people and from what I've ears oil pumps never bad.. Where is te relief valve?
