A very thorough oil change!

A good customer stopped in quite often years back and would always comment "I see you are changing oil on another 1370" when he would see them torn down like this. I
would say Yep got to wipe all that grimey old oil off the gears to do a good job. Rod.

Yep, the diff, ring and pinion, final drive sun and plant. gears, brakes, brgs and 3 pt pistons and sleeves all bad. We are going to fix it, Rod.

I thought it was a pretty decent looking 1370 when I stopped by the other day and it would have been a shame to see it scrapped. A friend of mine had some pretty good footage of the tornado by Pipestone.

Thanks for sharing! My grandpa had a 1370 he bought new. I spent a lot of childhood hours in that cab with him!! He was very fussy with his equipment and always did regular maintenance, but I think it looked like that one twice. The rear end was the weak point. We are from SW Minnesota.

What's a job like that cost being they were thinking about scraping it. Let me reframe that is it cheaper to fix it and know what you have or just buy another & what changed there mind?
Just curious Byron

The owner did not want to repair it, I purchased it for what the
salvage was going to pay. I hope to have &7500 or less in it
when finished. Rod.

That is not a bad price to pay for something you know now is going to last ya. I'm sure it will be a great running tractor a nice addition and you saved one from the scrap yard.
best of luck with it Byron
