2590 valve adjust - need tips

The 2590 will be getting some TLC next month and setting the valve tappets is on the list. I have never done this on a 504 before.

Are there any special tips or tricks to make the job easier? Will the valve cover gaskets be reusable or should I just get new ones?

It looks like pulling the air cleaner and the breather tube will give ready access to the 3 valve covers. Anything else to be aware of?

I remove the air cleaner assy and always order new vc gaskets and grommets for the holdown studs and new cork gaskets for the breather tube. Also this would be a good time to pull the injectors and have them checked.
