powershift question for Rod or AgriKing

I have a 2290 that has recently developed an Issue, when you push the Inching pedal down it doesn't do its surge like it should, I hooked up a set of guages to it and in low c4 reads zero however in reverse it reads 190. Service manual states that this probably means the .028 orfice in the valve block is plugged. My question is were exactly in the valve block is this orfice and is it going to require removal of the block from the tractor to clean it out? Local dealer doesn't keep gaskets for these on hand and I kind of need to get back to the field with it as its my only loader tractor at the moment and I have about 600 round bales sitting in my alfalfa field that I need to get off.

Jeremy, I am neither one of those two guys but would like to ask if you have verified that the clutch spool is traveling to the end of it's travel? I have never seen the orifice plugged on any I have worked on. Did you check lube pressure? Do you mean that the C4 clutch has no pressure in 1 with the clutch depressed? I was a little unsure on how you were describing it?

Jeremy, check to make sure the inching spool is pulled up all the way when the pedal is depressed. The pedal also needs to go down and end up being about a quarter of an inch from the floor. There is a bolt on the pedal that adjusts the travel. I like Mel mentioned have never seen the orfice plugged.

Yes Mel with clutch pedal depressed and in 1 there is zero pressure at C4, lube pressure is 55 with pedal up and drops to zero when pedal is
depressed. All other pressures are normal when working thru the check sheet in the service manual.

Rod, my 1070 had a black spring in it, works much better after I replaced it with the correct orange spring, It is one of those jobs that will test a persons patience when it is hot and humid

With the pedal pushed down all they way you should have pressure on c4 and nothing else. Is that correct?

Sorry for the delay our I-net has really been a problem as of late. Does your Reverse work properly?

(quoted from post at 20:02:13 06/13/16) yes reverse works fine and in reverse with pedal up c4 reads 190,
Should read 190 with the clutch up or down as well. the c2 c4 combination gives reverse but c2 is the one that is modulated, I would still like to see lube pressure as it is important to the reverse lockout

Mel as I said the other day Lube pressure Is 55 with pedal up and drops to 0 with pedal down, and I realize that in reverse I should have 190 at C4 with both pedal up and with pedal down but I do not, with pedal depressed c4 drops to zero hence my original question regarding the .028 orfice since it states in the service manual that "If C4 pressure is okay in Reverse but low when clutch pedal is depressed the .028 orfice plugged in RPS control valve body, not allowing pressurized oil to open C4 pilot spool"

Sorry, I missed the one about your test of the lube pressure, it is a bit low but should function. I believe you are looking at a valve removal and inspection, it. really is not a bad job. Just because we have never seen a plugged orifice does not preclude the possibility. There is a possibility of a bad gasket, I have seen that. When removing the valve watch for the retard ball, spring and retainer as they will occasionally become unseated. good luck, you have done as much as you can externally.
