Case CK530-Diesel Oil Pan Removal?

1964 Case Construction King with a leaking oil pan... I can't imagine that this is the case, but it looks like the oil pan cannot be removed without first dropping the front axel support out of the way-- is this true? I just want to put new gasket on it.

Also, another question for anyone who might know--
Why does the tractor stall if I lose hydraulic pressure?... A line burst the other day to the backhoe and the engine stalled and wouldn't start.

Thanks.

if the engine won't turn the hydraulic pump may have seized from lack of lubrication when the hose blew, remove the pump first and see if it will start then. Seems unlikely but since both happened at the same time it is suspect.

Drop the wishbone to get the pan off
