Case 730 all at once the clutch pedal pushes in hard and will not release with out hitting the pedal back. Slips a little while under load now. What do think caused this problem?

Hard to say what caused it. Maybe not adjusted correctly and the throw out bearing failed. Doesn't matter much at this point because it will probably need to be split to correct the problem

My 1030 and 930, 730,400 do that once in awhile......lubricate the pivot point on the clutch and the cross shaft where it goes thru the trans. case. The bearing or bushing in there get rusted up. Good penetrating oil will loosen it up.

I was thinking about the 1650 Oliver I bought to fix up for resale. The p/o ran it so long with the throw out bearing bub is worn and needs to be repaired or replaced and each of the fingers on the diaphragm pressure plate were curled around in such a way that it looked like it was made that way

You were right. One of the needle bearings on the cross shaft froze up. Decided to replace the bearing. Thanks for your insight.
