990 DB fuel problem

cannot get fuel into second filter. I installed new fuel pump (thought that was the problem at first) and can hand pump fuel into first filter but cannot get it to come through first bleed valve or into second filter. took off the part that the filters bolt onto and cleaned it out but still no luck. Is there a check valve in that part that's keeping it from getting through. When I loosen the first filter after pumping it squirts fuel so there is pressure there but not at bleed valve nor further in the fuel system. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

Make very sure that all your bleeder screws are open. I have a tractor that is hard to bleed I rigged up a valve stem in the fuel cap. IF all your bleeders are open 3# is more than enough to bleed system. Electric fuel pump will solve this problem also

If you have NAPA/WIX fuel filters make sure the filter top outer groove does not have an O ring in it, that's the filter inlet. Have made lots of service calls to correct that mistake..

Thanks for the tips about bleed valves and napa filters. I think that o ring gasket on the filter is the problem, didn't notice the difference from the old ones before so I'm glad you pointed that out. Will try tomorrow morning. With that o ring there I couldn't see how fuel could flow but just thought I wasn't understanding the system. I'll post again later with the results.

Just to let anyone interested know that when I removed the o rings from filter everything worked right. Thanks again for that tip!!
