My 40 year old

I had to stop between fields today to wash the windows. Then it wanted me to take its picture. The A.C. needs a new compressor so it was an open
air day today. I wore my ear plugs and could still hear the bellerin' loud and clear. Just in case you were wondering, the rear-view mirror is
substantial enough to zip-tie a Raven NH3 monitor to it without damage.

Yep, those big fellers like to show their stuff ,,. All CASE Tractors had a personality as a standard equipment whether you wanted it or not,,. LOL . open air with the gull wing window and door is very nice even on a hot day . open the back window and it is almost a cool draft . is that a 13 or a 15,, I have same front tires on my 1070, dont forget to wash the radiator fins clean,,. what worx for me is simple green sprayed into the radiator fins then I start the engine and spray with a garden hose thru the front of radiator at idle ,.. you can really see the crud coming out ,when that subsides , I go full throttle and hit it again ,, and more crud gets pulled thru ,. with a garden hose you will never damage any fins . also it is amazing what little effort it takes to wash the motor at this time ,, especially if you just come in hot off the job .the fan spray puts that simple green rite to work a 3rd time /. btw .can you do a pix on the mirror set up, and where in the cab is best .. I deal with tree limbs more often than I care to admit,..but I wanta mirror

You have a new one compared to my 1170. It was painted white and 1175 decals when I bought it in 1980. One overhaul and one clutch in all those years......It's a 1970 model and had 69 on the engine bearings when I overhauled it. 46 years and still going strong.

A guy I worked for as a kid had, I think an 870 - I remember it had a decal saying 330 cubes on the side of it - I think it was a four cylinder.
He took the stock muffler off, and replaced it with a 12" long straight pipe, so he could back it in the barn with the manure spreader. As a kid, I didn't believe in hearing protection, but I did when I ran that

Is it common for using NH3 in your area? We used it here in Alabama late 60s and early 70s do not see it any more. You have a very nice looking 40 year old. I see some one thought like me it was 1175, because of the exhaust and not the typical muffler, I do see the extended axle on the rear now.
Have a great day,
Neil

I would guess that NH3 gets about 60-70 percent of the nitrogen market in our area. As a rule, it is the cheapest form.

I ruined the muffler mowing in a wooded lot. I need to pony up some cash and put another one on it. I still have the top gooseneck pipe somewhere, as it survived the crash.

The axles are something you have to be mindful of. They stick out a long ways with the wheels set for 30 inch rows.

I had a 1370 back when I was row cropping it was heavy tillage tractor. I would still have it if it were equipped with 540 pto.
