Sure would have like to try to blow some hay with the 1030

The harvester is 1000 rpm and the 1030 is 540.
They where both stored in the shed at the other
place , so I just hooked they together for the trip
home. The 1030 had a 1000 rpm pro when I got the
tractor , but it was nonfunctional. I was fortunate
enough to come up with a good 540 assembly. Most
of my equipment is 540 anyway. Just think it would
be fun to run the harvester with this beast. Looks
the part!

I ran a 718 New Holland cutter a lot of years with my 1030. Corn head and hay head. 1030s have their own special exhaust note when they are pullin good.....love the sound.
 
Same here, but just bought a 790 w/ 1000 RPM gearbox. Will have to switch to the 1175. The 1030 sure barks on the chopper. Don
 
Ran the harvester with an open station tractor for quite a few years. The tractor's bark and the harvesters howl sure made some nice music. Can't here high pitched sounds anymore though. Ben
 
Long ago we had a new Badger 54 in 540 blower.I had a high tin 830 an if i remember it had a no load engine speed of 2300 rpm. Well we could not get that combination to blow a wheelbarrow of haylage in to a 60foot silo.Frustrated we put a dc on the blower an it got the job done for many years. As you know they both had 540 pto shafts but that dc must have had a much faster pto speed.
 
We used to fill Dad's 50 footer with corn silage using a gehl 85 blower. I tried my dc with 4" pistons and 5505 head and it didn't work worth a hoot. My 88 Oliver or my grandps's M Farmall would put it up there though. The dc shaft ran too fast for the power it had.
 
I use to blow in a 60 footer with my 630 diesel and Allis blower. Shade all day from the smoke, but the 630 did it a lot of years. Also baled thousands of square bales pulling a 24T and Welco skid.
