I guess having a rain cap on the exhaust is
not enough to keep rain out of an engine.
This is what I found when I started tearing
into my 310 crawler. Was surprised to find
the bent push rod since the engine hasn't
turned yet. Had 2 stuck valves and looks
like 2 pistons are stuck. Anyone know what
engine this is? I can't find any numbers on
the block. Appears to be 3 7/16 bore using
my tape measure.

Oops? Look like you got some work to do Jon. I bought an S this winter that would not start. The aircleaner and carb were full of water! Dick

I'm assuming it's the same engine as in my 310B hoe/ldr. 3 3/8 bore x 4 1/8 stroke giving 148 cubic inches. I bought my owners, parts and shop manuals from a fellow in Chippewa Falls WI, he had a ton of track/backhoe/ldr/forklift type lit. I guess utility is a better word for the stuff. Drop a note and I'll dig up his card if you're interested in this type of stuff.

148 is a great little motor. I bet John Saelle has rebuild kit. FYI: when I rebuilt mine the rods and mains bearings Miced the same as the new ones, but needed new pistons and sleeves

I checked the mains and they look good, can't get to the rods til I get the engine to turn because one bolt is blocked. All the cylinders are in the middle of the stroke, the only place you can't reach the rod bolt on the block side.
