Pulled out my 310 crawler

Decided to use some of my off time to pull
out my 310 crawler and get started on
repairing it. Got to use my dc to pull it up
by the shop. Sadly the engine has stuck from
sitting. Also found 2 stuck valves. Not sure
how I'm going to handle that yet. I pulled
the plugs and put in some oil solution to
try to get it loose. Got one valve freed up,
but the other is being difficult. I may pull
the head tomorrow just to see what it looks
like inside. I'm thinking about putting a
loader on it as my local salvage yard has a
complete loader set up with counter weight
with scarifyer. Either that or fab up a
blade for it.

Did it have a loader at one time?? Case crawlers with a loader had one extra idler on the track. Cleats on the tracks are smaller also to make it easier to turn when loading. I have a complete loader for a 310 also. How did you crank the DC with a distributor without a battery and make it run??

It does not have the extra roller and it has the traction tracks on it. The one at the salvage yard has the loog rails tho if I decide to use them. The dc had a battery I just borrowed it to try to start the crawler. The dc starts good, but it has a bad spot in the ring gear and sometimes I need to bump it a little to get it to engage.

Jon - Where is there a salvage yard around you? They're really getting hard to find. Paynseville used to be a dandy, Panning Bros around Gibbon, but I' haven't been down there in 20 years or so, I've never been over Ea of Cambridge to Larsons, they're always advertising I know. Hillman has a yard too.
Kugler Salvage, in Erhard (just north of Fergus Falls) has a yard I've used, they's had stuff for my 310 hoe

Larson's is the one with the loader. They have a lot of stuff there, but they are doing more construction stuff these days. Gotvald Imp is also a good one for Case stuff, they are se from Pierz about 15-20 miles.

Looks GOOD , if I had to decide I would go for the LOADER ... my thinking is there are a lot of things you can do with a loader that can't be done with a blade ... and as good as you are you could use the loader as a blade ...

Just my 2 cents ................. mark

Thought so, but didn't know which town they called home. Those are nice folks over there. Prices have gone up some since the kids took over tho.

I'd vote loader frame if it's available. I've got dads 310C w/ loader. She needs some track help and is patiently waiting her turn. The old girl dug out many of big rocks on the Stearns Co. gravel. Pa should've started pit and gave up farming those hills. It also cleaned up a number of fire jobs around the area.
