just drug home a 730 has a swartz wide front going to put a narrow front on it looking in the OP manual it claims you need a steering gear support ring. I have two narrow front 930,s dont see it on them anybody have any lieing around or whats your take on it?? Grew up on narrow fronts not a real big fan of wide front tractors like to be able to spin around on a dime.

If it has a after market front end now, chances are it had a narrow front on from the factory. Rod.

I can find nothing by that name in my 730/830 parts book. The"pedestal" bolts directly to the "spindle" The spindle, as shown in the parts book, has the flat, 4 bolt hole plate, that is splined and goes up into the steering sector. They bolt together. I've both styles, nf & wf here on the farm, and there is nothing in between them.

While I am well aware of the narrow front's advantages I have very little interest in owning one. For decades we fought the mud on our low, heavy soil dairy farm. They just don't work in the mud. Reversing the front wheels on our '51 DC did help, but it was still a far cry from a wide front.

In the 930 op manual it says when switching to norrow front to add that ring and longer bolts.for stringent.
I have looked at lots of norrow fronts can't remember seeing any with that ring.

kinda what i thought to i have never seen that ring on any either going to send for the build card next week see what it says Thanks again guys

I purchased one in 2014 from Don. One book says for use on 830's I did install on my 730 for looks/safety purpose's but it is not really needed.

(quoted from post at 10:36:04 05/30/16) My 69 830 came with a narrow front and had the reinforcing ring. I switched it to a wf and have the ring yet.

Can you post a picture of the ring and where it goes? You guys have a few of us wondering

I had a "lost" and easment was narrow.my 52 vac fit so it was used daily to feed heifers in that pasture.mud was a problem.I found a va front axle.ended my problem.I'm not milking or farming anymore but I'm happy with that va axle as my vac now pulls a 6'finish mower.I have a 2 acre yard
