The 580 I think would be the biggest number out there, but I am curious as to the most produced Ag tractor CASE built. I am sure some of you guys have those figures on say the top 5. I do not know what number one is but would guess the VAC. Rod.

Rod, I would guess the "930" 65-69 if your asking for a specific series, but all in all the "930" for sure and its reign from the early 60s too the late 60s

Not tractors but about every farm around here had an A6 combine. A pair of bachelors that used to live a half mile north of me once counted 7 of them within a mile or so running at the same time. In typical Case fashion they gained the majority of the market and then ran it down their leg.

My thinking it would be the "V" tractors , V ,VA , VAO , VAC. Based on the fact there were more farms to sell a tractor to in the late 40's and 50's , then any other time. Also , J.I. Case was a full line dealer back then, with a dealership in every county .

The answer to this question will vary depending on what time line in the history of Case your talking about.

I agree on the most popular combine, at one time in this area you could throw a rock in any direction and hit one, Rod.

I would like to think either the L or LA was Case's best selling "top of the line" wheatland tractor. Can anybody post production numbers. I have some but not sure if they are right.

It is probably the VA series, but I can't find my book to tell me for sure.
I am sure it isn't even close to a Farmall M or H, or Deere A or B at 300,000+ each.

I understand this is more than you ask for and probably not the best forum to post this info on. This data is taken from Tractordata.com. The list is in order of sales volume of the more popular brands and models. I welcome corrections and additions.

I would think the 930 would have to be on the top. Were several around here. The VA series was popular too. I have only seen one or two here in my part of NE.

I would think the most popular case was the 580. There are so many 580 backhoes around I would think it the winner of most popular.

Rod,

If you are talking about all models in a series, the VA series is most popular with all models totaling 147,400 and the D series is next with 104,498 units produced, according to the Case Tractor Buyer's Guide. Don

agreed ,..one could write a book for ech decade starting in 1920,..the history of agriculture is really our AG CULTURE in a snapshot ,.. so much can be said to support each model in the times they were ffered ,,.and I hink t only fair to rank somewhere the other rainbow color of gray makes in the 20s and 30s ,. , it wuld be amost interesting book for sure,.i have my favorites ,maybe the430630 falls in the 580 category ,,.I love the tripe range ,. but there are other honorable mentions too,.

Isn't that the truth. Had they built upon their steam and threshing machine reputation they would have been a force to be reckoned with. Even the C/CC and L was adequate for the 30's and then they took a design which was outdated by 1939 and made the dc out of it and carried it on for another 15 years and down the drain it went. The 400 was 10 years too late to make a serious turn-a-round in their market share which in turn limited r&r during the 30 series era. In a large part it was their stubbornness to phase out the dc sooner that led to their demise.
