Nice muffler and extension! I was too cheap to do that. I put a aluminumized straight pipe on my 1170.

Man Joe, that is how the "1170" Black Knight" (We Borrowed from another Case dealer) looked, chrome stack and all when I drove it new out to our field demo( We had our "1070" "Black Knight" and a "1470",wish I had pictures

)!

Wow you have to be proud to have this great prize. Even thou I told my wife no more tractors ( Ha!) If I could find a "1170" "Black Knight" like you have, I would need to own it! No, own it!

Doesn't the valves need the back pressure of the muffler

I don't think it matters, I always knocked the baffle out of the muffler anyway. The 1640 Case-IH combine has a 5.9 Cummins engine and from the factory it has a short straight pipe right off the turbo.
