SC and DC generators

Hello. I have two late model SC and DC tractors with the six volt Autolite generators on them. I would like to change the tractors over to 12 volt but dont like the looks of an alternator on these tractors. That being said I have two questions for this group.
Does anyone know the name and phone number of an electric shop that can rewind/rebuild that Autolite generator to 12 volts?
If I cant get the generators rewound I would like to mount a generator from a later model 12 volt tractor. Does anyone know what generator and model of tractor it could be found on that would be a good fit and would look right with proper belt alignment on a DC or SC? It doesn't have to high amperage, I just need it to run a few lights and start reliably.
There is a lot of good experience on this board and I look forward to reading it every day. Thanks for any help, John.

400's would be the next closest tractor with 12 volt. I have taken many pulleys off generators and alternators and swapped them around to make the belts line up. I would start with a generator from a 400,800 or similar and maybe switch pulley's to your SC DC. Been thinking about that same thing in the last few weeks.

Batavia Starter, in Batavia, NY 585-344-3285. Phil has converted many Delco and Autolite generators from 6v to 12v for me, including one off of my 1941 VC.. He is very good with the old stuff...

From the factory shop manual, the test specs for the 12v gen should be a minimum of 14.7 amps @ 15 volts. This data is for a Sun VAT 28 tester which is demonstrated in the manual. The generator is a 3rd brush, non adjustable with a cut out type voltage reg.

Good guys, reasonable, do good work.

I am not a total purist ,,. I have a shelf of broken worn out generators that have been replaced by single wire 12 volt delcos ,, and I do not regret upgrading to them one bit
