What's a case 300?

Today my boss and I went in to our local case ih dealer (who was a case dealer back in the day) for a lift piston seal for the three point on his round nose case 300. The parts guy, who looked about 12 years old (he wasn't that young) asked me if it had a c169 or c175 engine.. I said a CASE 300..not an IH! What the motor had to do with the three point I have no idea, but he looked at me all puzzled and said uhhh.. like he didn't have a clue.. he then says he can't find a case 300 in the computer.. and then he can't find the old paper copy of the parts book..
We left empty handed and disgusted..

We did match up a piston seal at the local hydraulics repair shop...

Go to the link below, print out the page and take it to the dealer if you are going to buy from them. Pull your piston and check the seals against the parts page before you order, pistons sometimes get changed or updated over the years. The inset utility pic is for the model 310. Engine is 148 cid, has nothing to do with hitch parts. Case 300 is a tractor series which includes models 301, 310, 311, and 312. Some of the part nrs shown on this page may have changed over the years, dealer should be able to cross-ref, if not post back and I or some one else here will check for the current p/n.

Personally I would check the piston for the right parts and give John Saeli a call 315 585-9826. You won't get a better price or service anywhere.

You probably saved yourself a $100 bucks by buying the seals at your hydraulic shop. CNH prices are out of control for older Case parts.
