Things in the oil pan

Got some gaskets from Mr. Saeli for the oil pan and valve cover and installed them today. I had hoped that the ones on it had survived the fire but they had started leaking. Upon removing the oil pan I
discovered the old dip stick. Apparently it snapped off and that is why I had an unmarked, random one in its place. Got the gaskets in now and crossing my fingers that the rear main seal doesnt (or isnt) start
leaking.

I share this thought only because I live by the torque wrench. Bring all your pan bolts up to a light snug in a cross pattern. Torque to the specified torque. Warm her up to operating temp. Let her cool, and torque bolts again. What a find!

Now is when your are happy to have a tricycle front. A row crop wide front involves a little more work to remove the pan.

Thank you for the replies. I drew those bolts up nice and tight with a criss-cross pattern. I would not be a happy camper if I was doing this on the VAC with the wide front.
