More Progress on 931

Looks like I'm going backwards at this point. It took a little extra leverage to break the rear lug nuts loose, but the Snap-On 3/4 ratched was up to the task. My Kubota trackhoe also makes a great selfpropelled cherry picker.
I wish the weather would straighten out so I can get the paint on, but it doesn't look too promising in the near future. Snow fluries predicted for tomarrow. Oh well, got lots of sheet metal to sand and prep, which I can do in the shop.

I like your plan Loren, it will look great. Are you going to paint the axles? Sure wish I had your self propelled cherry picker. Rod.

Rod, the axles will look like they do now. I will shoot some clear coat from a rattle can on them to prevent rust.
The trackhoe is pretty handy for lots of tasks around the shop.

I like lorens I beam under the arse of the balanced 930 ,,that loox like I was left over from the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING,..that would be handy to have ,, if a fella clould lift it

It froze last nite, the old timers said it will straighten out now!!But i think it ruined the blossums on the apples trees. So no apple crisp this fall.

If you had brought the wifey out to remove the wheel nuts , I bet she would have not needed the ratchet extension. Just sayin! Cheers Loren

My son and I went to look at a fixer upper 930 dsl. yesterday. The guy was more interested in going fishing than selling tractors so to put it in polite terms we thought" enough of this" and went home. We were around $500 apart anyways. I would just as soon pay a little more for something that runs and has more than one good tire.

I think that trackhoe will move that I beam around pretty easy. Move it to storage and everything.

Yea I agree, but "he" will really look sharp in his new suit! And this way by you doing it, you wont have the 1000s in a body shop paint job, and a "show only tractor"
And you will use it more too for your jobs.

Chuck, I bet she would have needed another 4' of extension. She only weighs 97# She weighed 120# when I married her 50 years back. Guess I'm working her too hard. HeHe

That's quite the cheater pipe! I am wondering what kind of shape the fuel tank was in when you removed it. Our 1030 tank was pitted so bad on the outside bottom edge we had to get a different one. Fenders were pretty thin as well. Don

Don, The only problem with the tank was repaired before I got the tractor. The RH tab that bolts to the fender had cracked loose, and the tabs on the bottom of the tank that keeps it centered on the pedistal were cracked and rewelded. I am putting in new cushion strips and pad where the tank sets in the saddles. They were all missing and it was metal on metal.
