Neighbors VAC

The neighbor got his tires mounted on the old VAC and got it out of the shed. Come to find out the clutch is stuck from sitting so long.
Here are some pictures of the tractor for everyone.

School me on VAC oil filters: Why is this one at an angle? Also the engine seems to be cast a little bit differently than most I have seen. Is this just because it is an early model/war model?

It also looks like his VAC has the roller drawbar similar to a DC. Was this an option on early units?

mite be a continental motor,,,, never recall that I saw a canted filter on any VAC , but the motor castings and the entire tractor looks like my 1949 all Case VAC..except,, are you missing the steering arm??..I have one here in s/IND if that ones is buggered bad..

Thank you for the replies.

It is a Case 124 engine. I wonder if the mounting for the oil filter on the VAC and the continental were the same and that the oil filter setup is just old parts being used up?
The steering arm is there he just has it up to pull it around with his oliver.

Went down behind the barn a while ago and looked at an old VAC that has been sitting for years. It has the chicken roost steering. It also has no oil filter place on the block. Too many blackberries to get to where I could see the serial number.
May try later.
