Need to change rotor and cap per instructions to install Pertronix on 930 distributor. What are Case part# for the long rotor and cap? Distributor # IBT6403 4T

You can do as you like but I will not install another pertronix until they take care of their high failure rate which has came about the last year or so.

I have my fingers crossed as I installed 2 of them this year. The supplier of the units knew of the problem and said Pertronics now says resistor spark plug wires need to be used for what ever reason, so that is what I did. Rod.

Have installed several on IH and Deere with no problems, but first one on a Case. Had problems with one (4020) that had a generator rather than alt and assume gen regulator was spiking voltage? Always used wire core plug wires, "Flame Thrower" 3ohm coil, eliminate OEM ign. resistor and maintain "boost" wire at starter. Problem I'm having now is dist has button rotor and Petronix requires long rotor and part# they give for cap has horizontal towers, might have proper cap located. If this one fails I'll let you guys know. Thanks, john

Dawg, your Email comes up as closed, call me at 570 279 1021. I did one of those for Camboted, if you get hold of me I will tell you what I found and the remedy I used.

I think it's a smoke screen. There are units that have been running for years with solid core wires and now all of a sudden it's an issue.

Am returning Petronix and putting points back in. Last straw was wouldn't index right when I tried to static time. Life's too short for this B.S. lol

I am trying to find points, condenser, cap and rotor for my Case 930 LP. My distributor has a tag on it IBT-6403. In the Case parts book I got from Jensales it shows the Case distributor part number for it as A24505. Looking at the parts breakdown it looks like the IBT-6403. The Case part # listed for the rotor is A24566 and the Case # for the cap is A24565. I am not sure this is the long rotor you are looking for or not. I recently got this tractor and it looks in pretty good shape but cannot find anyone that has these tune up parts. I would not mind going to a Pertronix set up as I have several but I would still need the cap and rotor. I would rather just get the tune up parts till I can prove up the condition of the tractor. Do you have a source for the tune up parts in your IBT6403?

Those are the correct part numbers. Carquest, Napa, O'Rileys, etc will have tune up parts and are good quality.

I was able to get what I needed from the Case/International dealer. Pretty pricy from them. I tried Napa originally but they could not find anything for the IBT- 6403 distributor. I see the early 930 LP had a Delco distributor in them. If the tractor proves out I may try to go that route. Thank you for your help.
