Front end loader leaks down when using my 1370

I have a Case 1370. About a 1978 model I think. The problem I'm having is with the front end loader that I have attached. The loader leaks down quite fast when using the tractor. I can disconnect the remotes lines for the loader and it will stay up. It's been several years but I remember doing something with the remote valve by putting some sort of seals in the rear of it. I did that a couple of times and each time it would help some but not stop the leaking down problem altogether. Can anyone offer any help and maybe some directions on how to fix my problem. Pics would be a great help. I have an IT manual but can't get much help from it. Thanks in advance.

If the problem is in the remote valve there are check valve seats and thermal relief valves that could be leaking. The factory service manual will walk you through the
steps of replacing them with pictures. If you do not want to deal with it, you can remove the valve and send it to a shop that tests and rebuilds them. My shop has
repaired many of them. Rod.

I don't have a service manual. I went to our dealer to get the parts before and asked them if they would print me out the procedure and all they would give me was the pic out of the parts manual. That has long since been lost but they would probably print me out another if I asked when I buy some more parts.

Thanks Rod and CNT. It's going to be a few weeks before I can get back down on the farm to try and do the repairs. I hope I have better luck this time.

A quick check to see if the thermals are the problem is to reverse the hoses and use the opposite lever travel to raise the loader. The parts book shows the valve mounted levers up so the thermals are in the LH end cap rather than the RH as on models smaller than the 1270.

Thank you everyone for all your help and suggestions. I'm getting ready to do a lot of lifting with it and have to get this problem resolved from a safety stand point.

Good morning! I was finally able to get back down to the farm and work with the front end loader. On the bucket, I did what you recommended and it worked great! Thank you for that information! Bucket stayed in place with the exception of the seals leaking some but I can take care of that. On the lifting part I tried reversing the hoses and the problem got worse. I put them back the way they were and found that when the arms were dropping on their own, I could slightly pull back on the handle and they would hold. The handle seems to have plenty of slack and not binding up in any way. I also noticed that when I had a fairly heavy load on the lift that it was very difficult to start the lowering process without it dropping too fast. Any ideas on the lift about slightly pulling back to get lift to hold and hard to get lift to start lowering without dropping too fast?
