1370 Strange pulsation then noises

1370 started having this weird rotational pulsation or surge not sure how to describe, it feels like if you would have knots on the back tires. When you let up the clutch it feels different than it should feels like theres slack in the drive line. As soon as tractor moves pulsation starts. I dont
think its coming from engine the rpms stay steady. Does this in any gear or range and reverse. It just pulses faster or slower depending on gear/range. It shifts fine. I was pulling a field cultivator 1500 rpm , 2nd gear 3rd range and shifting to 2nd range to turn around. It was pulling
with no problem at all like it always does except for this weird pulse which wasnt quite as noticeable when pulling. Then it started making loud banging noises from under the seat/cab in the area of the diff. I think ,hard to tell while driving. I stopped and unhooked the cultivator and
now I cant reproduce the noise but the pulsation is still there and seems worse when nothing is hooked up. Everything else works ok. Anybody else ever experienced any thing like this.

You have some kind of failure occurring in the final drive area. Discontinue using the tractor and have it checked out. You will find damaged parts in there now and using the tractor will only make things worse. Rod.

Yes, they look UGLY when they push gear teeth through the ring gear and break the surrounding case.

Yes once I heard the noise I stopped and unhooked, the rest of the drive was straight back to shed. At first I was thinking maybe fuel delivery or hydraulic but then the noise. Now I need to decide what to do knowing they also have p/s issues. Some one gave me this tractor because it had a knock in engine for putting a new clutch in a old mf1130 for them. I took it out and rebuilt it about 200 hours ago and it runs great. I test drove it allitle bit before that using a 22 ft disc. and it shifted good and no noises so i rolled the dice. Tractor has 3200 hrs and is in pretty good condition otherwise. Would there be a more durable as far as trans/ diff goes Case tractor that the motor would work in I might start looking for. Something for primary tillage but on a very small farm.

Yes as others have said don't move it now, I have seen a few broken transmission cases where pieces floating around get under bull gears and there is very little clearance, something has to give, and its the case.

I know what you mean but a 1370 doesn't have bull gears. Saying that planetary's don't tolerate foreign objects very well.
