Thermostat Replacement

Ok guys, going to put new thermostats in the 930 diesel this week. I have the double thermostats with the 4 bolt housing and the three with nuts are loose, but the bolt that goes into upper housing is STUCK!!! Sprayed it with PB blaster and will let it soak a few day! 3 questions, if it does not come loose, do I heat it, and what do I do if the bolt breaks off? I have been told to drill a small hole in each thermostat, is this necessary when the tractor has a thermostat by-pass hose?
Thanks!

this Always works for me when you have a steel bolt /fastener in cast iron, heat the head of the bolt Very cherry red,,,, WALK away until its completely cold, then turn out the bolt
cnt

yup, heat up the head, let it cool.
Lately I have been testing any thermostat I install in boiling water, just to be sure.
