Case 900 trans noise

Dug my old 900 out of the shed, and after considerable fuel system work (diesel), she runs great. Always been a good plow horse and puller, but hadn't started it in about 3 years. I probably ran it today about 20 minutes. Went to put it away, and after it fired up ant ran for a minute or so, it started making a pretty loud growling/whining in the trans area. It goes with engine speed, doesn't matter whether the clutch or pto is engaged or not. All fluids are full. Any ideas?

It just happened all of the sudden. Sound does not change when clutch is in or out.

It's all fixed, and it took less than 2 seconds for the repair. Can you guess what it was? Yes, it was caused by my stupidity.

Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner! Hadn't used this tractor in 3 or 4 years, used to hit it with my leg often. Just forgot that it would happen. Was really bummed out yesterday, with it making all that noise. Laying in bed this morning, and it hit me. Was in a better mood today!

toolz; it is always a big refief to find what you thought was a problem really isn't after all. it has happened to me a few times but i'm not always that lucky. john t.

The downside of this deal is that the only reason I dug the tractor out of the shed was to sell it to a guy who saw it in there one day, and asked about it. Didn't really care if I sold it or not. Spent 10-12 hours working on it this past week, along with $200 in parts to get it ready for him, and now he says his trailer isn't big enough to haul it to the pulls. That's what I get for trusting somebody.

Here it is. I'll post it in the photo ads.
