1370 hydrualic problems

I have a 1370 that seems to be slightly low on hydraulic pressure. I have a top air sprayer I need to pull with it and it won't fold the booms up and it will barley fold up the wings on my 1175 kewanee disk. You can hear the motor load up and it squeals and makes noise just like when a cylinder reaches the end of its stroke. I stuck a gauge in the remote plug and it showed about 1750 psi. I have a 995 david brown which will fold both implements with no problem and I checked it with the same gauge and it read 2500 psi. Do I have a weak pump or is my relief valve opening too early? Or is it a completely different problem I'm missing all together. Any suggestions from you seasoned case vets would be very much appreciated. Thanks for reading my post.

There is a oring in the relief valve that might need replacing but adding .040-.050 of shims to the relief might be a big help also. This can be done without removing the
complete valve from tractor. Someone familiar with those tractors should have no problem doing that. I pressure wash the area well and work using a flashlight and mirror
to change the oring. The 1 1/4 in cap on top the valve can be removed fairly easily if the rear tires are not set way in. The shims are added to the cap. Rod.

Thanks so much for your reply. I will replace the o-ring and add some shims and see what that does. Do you think it is safe to say the problem is not in the pump? I had ruled the pump out since reving up the engine doesn't make any more pressure and it has the same pressure whether the oil is hot or cold. Also because I can hear the relief valve squealing I felt like the problem was not in the pump.

A pump problem is possible but can only be properly tested with a flowmeter. The relief adjustment is fairly easy on a 1370 making that the best place for those without a flow tester to start. Rod.

1750psi sounds low for the tractor but don't overlook bad hose tips on the sprayer. Sometimes the tips become worn and won't allow
full oil flow.

Report back what you find.

OMG. You guys won't believe what happened. I took out the plug Rod was talking about and put about a .060" shim under it cause that's the closest thing I could find quick. My pressure went from 1750 psi to 3000psi. It now folds that sprayer with no problem and the relief valve doesn't squeal like a pig inside the cab. I had a hunch I was on to something cause the plug and spring are both worn pretty good. The plug has the shape of the spring wore in it and the ends of the spring are mushroomed out. Should I switch the shim to something thinner to get closer to the factor pressure or leave it like it is????

I dont think I would leave it at 3000 PSI. I own a 1370 and personally i would replace the spring and try to get the pressure
close to factory.

Replace the flatened out o-ring and use the original shims and be happy my friend.

3000 psi is riduculious for a 1370 and the hoses cannot take it

Can anyone post a Picture or something that shows me witch valve we are talking about here.
I have the same problem on my 1370.

Sorry, I'm not around mine to get a pic for you right now but it's easy to find. It's inside the right tire under the cab. If you look at you'll see the remote linkage hooked to the valve body as well as 5 large hydraulic lines. The relief valve is under an 1 1/4 plug that's on top of the valve body and very hard to see. If you need a pic I can get you one the next time I'm around mine.
