VAC Toolbox

I have a '52 VAC.
There is a square hole in the right side cowl just under the battery.
In looking at some pictures most do not have this hole.
Great place for tools,is it stock?
If so what type of door did it have?
Thanks.

It would have had a door that slides up inside like a pocket door. Look close, it might be in there just stuck up.

Like DKase said that is a factory tool box and location for the door on late 1951 and newer VA series, prior to that the door is on the LH side
cnt

Earlier VAC's were on the left.
Agree with DK about the door being stuck up inside.
PS: If you close the door, the mice will nest there.
If you leave the door open, they will nest up above behind the Inst.panel.
