Case Dealer Charles City IA

The 1950 DC Case I just purchased was shipped July 31, 1950 to Charles City IA

Who might have been the dealer?

thanks PJ

Easterly Impl. was in nearby Colwell Ia.
Might have been shipped by rail to Charles City and picked up by the dealer from there.

Pastor John,

I have Clyde King listed as the Case dealer in Charles City, IA. Don't have any additional information on him though. Must have been hard competing with Oliver manufactured right there. Don

OK will look it up on the map. I don't have any specific information yet from the build card yet as they are sending it out later this week.

For everybody's information Joan from Racine will take a credit card #($5.00) for gathering up the info and sending it out. Faster than sending a check.

Thanks PJ

ya, especially when they were selling 77's and 88's in competition with Case's old obsolete dc, Dad always said his 77 would do about anything his dc would because of the 6 speed trans. versus the 4 speed in the Case though the 77 did use a little more gas, when I was a kid I pulled a 3-14 with the 77 in 3rd gear in heavy dirt and would do it all day long, in comparison the 830 pulled 4-14 in 3rd or 4th

The neighbor next to us had a gas 77 and 88. They were nice tractors although I didn't run them enough to get used to the gear shifting sequence. The DC dad had was a simple straight forward work horse that ran and ran. When I drove my SC on a cold October morning a couple of years ago I remember feeling the heat radiating up from the rear end. Memories 40 years old came back to me. That's the beauty and fun of driving those tractors of the past! PJ

I like sc's as that was the first tractor I drove, both the sc and dc were tough reliable tractors, just not as modern and convenient as other brands, the 400 was a differen't story and should have come out 5 years earlier

Joan 1-262-636-7868 takes a day or two to look it up and she will ask if you want to pay by credit card. Speeds process up. PJ
