I am replacing the clutch in my late model Case 630 diesel, and ran into a bit of a challenge.... Apparently there are two different versions of the same part number A36147. One is called a Auburn unit and the other a Rockford. They are both 10" and both have 17 splines. The difference is the "shoulders" of the inner segment of the disc which cover the springs are too high on one of the clutches. They contact the inner cavity of the flywheel. Both of the clutches below are part number A36147. The third picture below shows my old disc on the left and the new one on the right.
A couple of questions for the group:
1. Either I have the wrong flywheel on my 630 or the new disc is not designed to work on the early tractors. Is it possible that style of clutch was made for the later 430-530 / 470-570s?
2. Which one is the Auburn and which one is the Rockford...so I know which one to ask for....
3. Any ideas on a source.... A&I Products made the replacement unit I bought, but they do not have the other style.
I can't have mine re-lined. A piece of the inner section of the disc is broken (see third pic below)
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or guidance. - Joe
