I'm trying another VAC modification. The leveling Box is old and stiff and not much fun to crank on for my VAC. I got a Ford/Ferguson box and it appears with some slight drilling it will go in place of my actual VAC box. The changes are nothing that will permanently alter the VAC and I can put the original box back on anytime I like. In any case I will need to drill out the top hole on the Ford/Ferg cross-piece to 3/4 so that it will accept the original VAC bolts. While I'm at it I think I will add a grease fitting to the top of the cross-piece. The bottom "fork" will need to be drilled out and ground on a little bit to fit the slot on the tube of the eagle hitch arm.
Perhaps someone else has been wondering about this. I thought I'd share. I will post finished pictures when I get done.
