430 Exhaust

Hello All -

Another question as I continue to move forward on my 430 restoration. I want to change the exhaust on the tractor from an up exhaust, to a down that runs underneath the tractor. I do a lot of mowing under and around trees, and I dont want to be tearing the stack off the thing all the time.

My question - does anyone have a pattern for the pipes needed? I have already purchased a new muffler from John. I am wondering about hangers for the back of it too. Any advice is appreciated.

Now that Bro. has showen you a pic of the underneith exaust, go to your friendly car parts store and buy some mandrale bends and straight pipe and weld up an underneith exaust system. Far far cheaper.Than CNH.

Rob i would be suprised if someone on here didnt have one. most people change from down to up. Maybe Jonathan Woodrum, he has lots of
430 parts.
 
Jonathon mite have one ,,,at least to measure from ,you can bend 3/8s rebar to follow the needed bends and agood muffler shop can pipe bend to match it ,, that worked perfectly on Pops 430
 
Thanks for all the help folks. I do appreciate it. I hope that I can get this gasser ready for some summer hay work. Then, its on to finding its diesel brother!! Got the kids through school, now I have time and a few $$ to play.

Underslung exhaust is not a good choice for haying. Better to dodge the overhead limbs than deal with a field fire that can sometimes toast the tractor also.

hi i just joined the site i just bought a 1967 430 gas with the horizontal exhaust intact. i think i can help you out with dimensions
