I have a 3800 gasser(smaller version), and a slew of other DBs.

The 4600 for all intents and purposes is a gasoline powered DB 880. Relatively rare tractor, only 500 or so made, most were sold in Canada.

The oil filter is the same as diesel DBs of the era. I use WIX # 51313, Napa and Carquest will carry this as #1313

Ignition parts are AC Delco and common with a 6 cylinder Chevy car of the era(yes 6 cylinder). Rubber plugs go in every other hole in the distributor cap(a dab of silicone will work fine). A good auto parts store(Napa or mom and pop) will be able to pull them off the shelf without even looking them up.

Plugs are AC 44xls, .025 gap
Point gap is .020"
Intake valve is .010" cold
Exhaust Valve is .007 cold

Case/IH/Ford/NH/Fiat is largely worthless when it comes to DB, not their fault I guess, just way too many names stuffed under their umbrella.

If you need any info on the DB 4600 hydraulic system, here's a free download from this helpful website. You will have to register to download. I did not see anything there on tune up info. I have a manual on DB 3 cyl gas engines, if you want, I can email it to you.

For sale a good running 1953 DavidBrown gas model#25.
It has a triple range Trans,2 speed PTO & Trans, a rear Hand Clutch and 3pt. Any interest...

Go to this site and get your Owner's Manual and your Service Manual for the David Brown 4600 (no parts manual, sorry!):

https://sites.google.com/site/deerebrown/

There are a lot more David Brown manuals there for free. Mostly parts manuals, but a few Owner's Manuals also.

Thanks so much! That helped a lot. I was surprised to see that there are no valve seals on the exhaust valve. Anyone else run across this?
