Gas lever linkage on VAC

I have a VAC around 48/49 that has both gas lever and foot feed. The lever was pretty stiff and my Daughter, whose tractor it is didn't like it. I loosened the nut on the bolt at the lever back to where the cotter key went through, but it still seemed overly stiff. Also, at that point, the gas lever linkage at the floor board quit working.
I checked the linkage at the floor board, and it seemed too tight, so I loosened the bolt and it twisted off.
Question is, how does both those linkages, hand and foot work together. I have to get a new bolt before I can put it back together.

when you push the hand throttle down the floor pedal should move down. If you need to see a diagram go to the CNHI web site and click on parts, then type in VAC and go to vac 13. This take you to a parts break down an you can see how it works.

Maybe this will help. Does not show the foot feed, but has the rods that connect to the linkage on the floorboard. Lee

Where does the spring with the hook, hook to. When the bolt broke the parts spread out and fell, some of them like the spring.

I notice theres a slight cut out in the piece of metal that the rod from the hand leaver goes to. Any reason for that?

I notice that theres a stud sticking out of the inside of the lever that the rod from the foot feed goes to. Any reason for that?
