Power Steering leak

Just wondering if power steering pump on a diesel 188 on a 60's Case CK530 can leak into engine crankcase. I read ATF Type A in service manual. I'm pretty sure leak is external on ram underneath front of engine.

My service manual showes a pump where the reservoir is part of the pump. My pump has a seperate reservoir. The manual states pump can be easily removed by removing 3 bolts in timing cover. Is this possible? If so is there a seal that can be replaced on pump so to prevent a possible leak into engine?

(quoted from post at 06:26:24 02/11/16) yes they can leak into the crank case, and yes they can be removed easy

Thank you! I am going to take pump off today to see if there is any type of seal behind gear that meshes with camshaft gear. Now that case-o-matic and engine is all sealed up, I want to make sure the power steering pump is not another culprit causing engine oil level to go up. I'm 99% sure it was TCH fluid getting into engine. Injection pump appeared to be fine for diesel leak into engine crankcase. Power steering reservoir would often need topping up before and evidence shows oil collecting on skid plate under power steering ram. Thinking I may "hang" power steering pump and fill reservoir to see if output shaft of pump drips. I have a service section on power steering pump that has built in reservoir. Manual says no servicable parts. However my reservoir is seperate from my pump so maybe I can remove gear, replace a seal if needed or obvious for preventative measures.

With John Saeli's knowledge and encouragement I managed to change seal. I had to split the pump to press out seal. Seal part number was CR 4355 and front ball bearing Fafnir 2020D2 (crossed over to SKF BR7109). Local parts store had bearing in overnight and seal was in stock. My best suggestion when you split pump do it over a white surface with a border so if any tiny needle bearings fall out you won't lose them.

The pump on my machine was G45466. The tag read:

JOHN S. BARNES CORP.
Rockford Illinois

I believe Mel posted somewhere on YT that Case 530's had different power steering pumps and mine was the one bolted with 3 bolts to back of timing gear covers on right side of diesel 188 and had a gear that meshes with camshaft gear.
