Case-OMatic premire movie

That's quite a find Tom. Thanks for posting this advertising film. I wonder how many dealers had ever heard of the Bahamas, let alone been there before. Don

Wow!! Thanks for that!! Sat down to take a look & could not pull away!! I don't know about that guy that said he pulls "5 Bottoms w/ an 800 in 5th" though!! My Dad went to the Phoenix show.

Tom pretty sure my grampa and ACG went to the phoenix unveiling, also belive they went to the Bahamas. cool find. I can remember watching the old movies that came with the records which I believe ACG still has some of. Im sure he will chime in on this.
Scott.

That is a really great movie, of course now I'm late getting to work. Oh well, sacrifices have to be made for the greater good.

Thanks for sharing Tom! I think I enjoyed listening to and watching the people almost as much as the machinery.

gonna than you,Tom before I even see this , cause I know it is GONNA BE GOOD , you say its a halfhour? ..Got to fill the furnace and get a cup of coffee while this "confuserputer" buffers ..

Thanks Tom,I remember seeing the Case-OMatic premier movie years ago,It brought back many memories. Thanks again.
Plowing with 5 bottoms in 5th gear? That must have been the new style helium infused soil,(real light soil),or drinkin some of this LOL
helium beer

Interesting flick! I am wondering what size those crawlers are in the centre ring in the Bahamas. Are they 310's, or larger? Can't see the decals real well from the old film.

Don, That movie reminds me of when I went with my dad and uncle to watch the Case-O-Matic demonstration at Panosh Implement in Kewaunee. The Case always won because they put the tractor they were pulling in too high a gear causing it to stall. My uncle was all Case and he eventually bought a Case 830 with the Case-O-Matic. Nice movie. Al

That was pretty cool Tom. Lets all be thankful Case never painted all their stuff purple and white !
I think flying all those dealers to Phoenix was something back in the day but flying them to the Bahamas AND shipping all that machinery there yet besides must have been astronomical in cost. Considering how conservative most people were at the time I just wonder how they felt about the extravagance of it all. It also explains all the Case pith helmets floating around.

Great movie! I remember my Dad and Grandpa talking about going to those premiers. I was lucky to go to Case's Big D in Dallas quite the show. I was looking for them in the movie I will have to watch it again. Real interesting the show they put on in the jungle. Must have been a great time to work at Case. Do we have any of our readers that prepared for that show?

I actually got the CASE Factory Eagle magazine from 1959 in the mail yesterday that covers this show,,, it also has a list of who worked to put it on
cnt

After watching this exciting film its easy to forget that within 10 years Case-o-matic, 2/3rds of the dealers attending, and the J.I. Case company itself would all be gone. Marc Roitman was not too worried about running up debt. When he became Case president there was a budget surplus and when he left Case was over 300 million in debt and on the verge of insolvency. A dealer I interviewed who signed his first contract in 1961 was soon shocked to find out that Case was nearly bankrupt. Don

Dad and Mom went to those shows also. Dad got onto the COM bandwagon and had great success with the 800 tractor. He also ordered himself a Chevy cabover and Swartz tilt bed and painted it all up like the Ford rigs that Case was promoting. I think Case had a dealer program offering grafics and some other promotions if a dealer got one of those trucks.
Fred, do you remember the "Starlite Reviews" that the sales and service depts from The Syracuse branch (Paul Harris and Stub Maynord) helped dealers host???
Loren

No I don't but I remember Stub Maynard and if my memory is correct he went to work for S.C.Hansen and sold their Case heavy industrial out of our yard.

That was awesome seeing that vintage video! My 530 Case definitely needs new paint and tires lol. I have a new appreciation for my machine after watching video.
