Helped a friend with an oliver 70 he bought. We could not get any spark to plugs. We had spark at the points. Someone installed an external coil on the mag? First for me! They ran the coil wire thru the cap and conected it to the peg in the cap that normally would touch the interal coil outlet. They let this pen still touch the internal coil which evedently went bad. This grounded out the external coil. We finally figured that out and fixed it so it did not touch the internal coil. The green wire goes from the points to the neg side of external coil. Behold we had spark and the engine ran. Dick
