70series nose pc

Just very early 9 and 1070s had the iron nose. I'd imagine the glass one was a cost cutting measure, and because they could get you with an add on sale for more weights.

1170 also had the cast front, at least the 1970 models did wish they had used them on all models, I like that they are togh and add extra weight
cnt

I might have this wrong, but the 1970's "70" series had the cast iron front, least the 9s and 10s. I think the 11s continued though, correct me if needed. Thought the 1971 models came out with the Fiberglass

I have a cast iron nose on my 1070 ... always thought it was born in 1971?..it came loaded with power brakes and shift , radio , heat /ac /foot accelerator is probably standard ,.. and it is white , with desert sunset underneath,.

LOL! Been a few days???
Only about 14,780 something days ago since they made the change and you don't remember the details????? Hee hee!

Thanks for the clarification on the 770/870s down below. The one I have is the first I've ever been around so I've been learning a lot these past few months.

my numbers are vague from heavy traffic in and out the door over the years , I do recall when I ordered the o manual that they thought it was built in 71 , I was in the 1070 today , and will look next time to get a good read on the numbers and put them in my phone, then report back .. tom ,,. my motor has a lot of blow by ,.. and uses a qt per long work day,. the motor starts good when cold . the pump could be turned up some , it hardly ever smokes even in a hard pull , it is a little below kikaz power ,,. but it is more than adequate for my 7 shank chisel plow in 2 range, and bucks the fluided 23x30s , while chiseling in the hard pan , I also have the inner wheel weights that weigh probably 200 plus each . the 1070 handles the 16 ft disc with ease in 3rd range , since it has been so sloppy nasty muddy here,. I have been hauling round bales on 2 car trailers in tandem ,instead of a trailer behind my positive track cummins ,,. man I shoulda done that long before now,.so much easier , safer , and fun driving the 10 mile round trip thru the hollows and hills on a cold day , I have the heater on and it is comfortable , even without the back window that is stashed in the hayloft..

Tom , I did not know that about the 7 -870 ,,sure do like the cast nose ,,.it is tuf , and looks it,,. not that I am gonna bull doze with it, I know it adds a lot to the payload of the 1070,. these tractors just got affordable for guys like me in the last 20 yrs ,I have been running DCs and 430s and a 800 diesel and having a ball farming and was very content , Never had time to pay much mind to the 70 or 90 series , Then this 1070 literally landed at my farm with a bad radiator ., I have owned my 1070 since 2009 . took me a couple yrs to get him field worthy, it was practically barefoot , needed a new radiator, alternator, starter , had a crackt head, brakes ,pto ,I also put in new injectors ,,. and only had 2nd and 4th range , that was a bargaining chip that I underestimated for repairs that I shoulda trimed back on the selling price . the power shift just needed adjusting by my friendly ihc dealer,.. Jacobi Sales really welcomed Case guys with open arms after the shotgun wedding, they are very good to us, and work hard to make the cases do us all proud ,..
